惑星 (Wakusei) was a three-piece band lead by 岸田研二 (Kishida Kenji). The original members all went to high school together in Shizuoka, Japan. Although their sound was closer to punk rock when they started out in 1995, later albums featured a progressive rock sound. For a period of time the band was signed onto Universal Japan. After this contract ended, Kishida decided to continue activities while the other members decided to leave the band. Their final album – MY WAY – was released in August, 2007.
