40 Watt Stars were a Tasmanian indie-folk band who played between 1996 and 1998, releasing one demo tape "40 Watt Stars" and recording another two ("The SAE Session" and "The Consession"). Comprising of Andy MacKenzie (vocals and guitar), Sara Libero (vocals and drums), Jen Badenhagen (clarinet), Tracey Hogue (violin and vocals) and Andy Hazel (bass and guitar) later adding Tim Picone on keyboard.
