Akatakyie is made up of two brothers, Prince Kwabena Budu Asumaning aka Kobby Culture and Ebenezer Kwasi Okyere Asumaning aka King Pharoah. Okatakyie (singular) means braver warrior/person. Their debut album, Ghana mbaa, made a lot of waves on the Ghanaian music scene in 1999. It was hard to classify them a hiplife or highlife group as Odo esisi me ruled various charts and gained them Ghana music award nominations including the best hiplife song.
