Aoki Reibo (Reibo Aoki II 青木鈴慕?) (born 1935) learned shakuhachi from his father, Reibo Aoki I and became head of that lineage in 1975 becoming Reibo Aoki II. His rich sound and stunning performances in both the classical Kinko Ryu style and contemporary music have become a standard in shakuhachi music. In 1999 Aoki Reibo was designated as one of the Living National Treasures of Japan for Shakuhachi. Read more on Last.fm.
