Ataiz was started by Dougie Poynter (McFly) and Tom Turner (myspace.com/oneshottom) and were later joined by Will Sparling (myspace.com/willsparling) and Dan Stratford (myspace.com/danstratford). Their first gig was at the 'Crooked Billet' were they played only three songs to around 40 people. After this the band wrote more and more songs and practiced regularly, securing various gigs around their area and some local newspaper attention.
