The Austin Benjamin Trio are an Australian group based in Canberra, ACT. It consists of Austin Benjamin on Piano, Chris Pound on Double Bass and Evan Dorrian on Drums and Percussion. Their sound focuses on group, and textural improvisations, rather than straight ahead jazz improvisation. Evans playing is more centered around a more textural use of the drum kit.
