Bābak Bayāt (Persian: بابک بیات) (b. 1946 - d. November 26, 2006) was an Iranian composer. He was born in Tehran, Iran. His father wanted him to become an athlete and to go to the military academy, but he chose a career in music, despite his respect for his father's wishes.
