Sahak Abovian (born in 1932), better known by his stage name of Benik, is one of the last ashugh of northern Armenia. His compositions are well known there, especially his patriotic song about Erebuni (the ancient Erevan). Along with his compositions, Benik is also renowned as a zurna player.
