Benkirkland formed in Ben's basement in 1997. The original members were Greg Goddard (bass), Ben Constable (guitar/vocals), and Josh Kirkland (Drums). Later that year Greg went a different path and Jeremy Davis came on as bassist. Brandon Vogel soon joined as lead guitarist after Kirkland and Ben saw his ad in the pitch weekly.
