Blood Tears began their activities in 1998 in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, influenced by doom and black metal bands, like My Dying Bride, Dimmu Borgir, Katatonia, Tristania, Hypocrisy, Type O Negative. The demos "The beginning of suffering"(2000) and "Symphony of dark chords"(2002) got great repercussion from fans and specialized magazines, both national and international.
