His music has been influenced by a wide variety of pianists, including Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, George Shearing, Oscar Peterson, Leon Russell, Dr. John, Professor Longhair, just to name a few. In his spare time he listens to everything from jazz to rock to orchestral music.
