Breaching Copyright were formed in the autumn of 2007 when lead vocalist and Bass guitarist Ross Mercer was asked if he wanted to form a band by (now ex) rhythm guitarist Shaun Johnston. Soon they picked up lead guitarist Simon Amos and Ross found their first Drummer, Sean Castell. The idea was now forgotten until February of 2008, when Breaching Copyright had their first practice in Bassist Ross' garage.
