Cacaw began in Chicago, Illinois, United States in 2008 when Zack Weil and Kyle Reynolds, members of numerous underground rock bands, teamed up with Anya Davidson and Carrie Vinarsky, formerly of the band Coughs, to create Chicago's "heaviest and angriest rock band". Since then Cacaw has traveled the country and released two albums with Permanent Records, as well as two cassette versions of those records.
