Born and raised in Michigan City Indiana, (James) Carter Cathcart has been involved in music since the tender age of 2 weeks, when his mom would sit him on her knee at the piano, play a note, and he would sing it back in pitch. Uh oh. Piano lessons started at the age of 5, and he formed his 1st band, The Impossibles, at 11, playing the 1965 Miss Indiana Pageant.
