The Casswells were Paul Amesbury on vocals and guitar, Paul Towler, formerly of Haywains, on guitar, Stew Black on bass and Johnny Rench on drums and vocals. Fromed in Bristol, UK around 1996, the band struggled against the tides of Britpop influenced by "The pains of love, urban decay and every day struggles under Tory governed Britain".
