Began experimenting with music when he was 13, using cassettes, reel to reel tapes and short wave radios. Listening to Stockhausen's Aus den sieben Tagen and Stimmung was an ear opening experience. Brian Eno's Discrete Music, Cage's Sonatas and interludes for prepared piano, and Wuorinen's Time's Encomium turned his head around completely. Listening to the music of Schoenberg, Bach and Webern was an aural education. If all this sounds serious and boring he also enjoys Kylie Minogue, Cuban Dance Music and a sixties pop music.
