Chandra Oppenheim is the daughter of American conceptual artist Dennis Oppenheim who was well acquainted with the artists and musicians of the late 70's Lower East Side. Her father’s students Eugene Diserio & Steven Alexander, were already active in the new wave scene as The Dance (From the ashes of The Model Citizens) and Chandra joined the band as the vocalist at the age of 10.
