The "pleasant things" to be found on this CD are many and varied, and all satisfy tremendously; it would be a shame to label the work of this Texas-based collective of multi-instrumentalists as merely "ambient" or "atmospherics"; the moods range from peaceful Korg drones and stratospheric violin filigrees to menacing interstellar overdrives to fragments of cut-up, sampled voices to lush pedal steel guitar landscaping.
