Darkened Horizons was​​ formed in the early winter of 2011 by Vacillation guitarist Adrian Socaciu and vocalist Josh Ellis as a project dedicated to producing progressive death metal. As soon as the band was formed, preparations for the recording of the first EP "Darkened Horizons" were set up.
