Stevie Ray Vaughan's band performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. The concert attracted the attention of David Bowie who asked Stevie Ray to play lead guitar on Bowie's next album, "Let's Dance". Vaughan had been slated to join Bowie on the Serious Moonlight tour in 1983, but removed himself from the project following personal disagreements between the pair.
