In a small student flat in the summer of 2004, Tarjei Nygård and Ottar Langåsdalen met up and, with the help of turntables, a sampler, some synthesizers and a sequenser, made dobbelmono. Guitarist Espen Kåsa joined shortly after, and made them sound more like a band.
