Draumhvörf the band was formed in the summer of 2008 from the ashes of the band Proxima. The original lineup consisted of guitarists Ástvaldur Axel, Sindri Ben and the drummer Emil. Soon after beginning his education at the FÍH music school, Emil met Þorvaldur in class who joined the band as keyboard player and later took up singing as well.
