#1 Earth Quake was formed in 1966, originally a white blues band known as Purple Earthquake, and by the early 1970's were better known as a power pop band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their 1st LP came out in 1971 on A&M records and they had music featured in the 1972 Steve McQueen film The Getaway.
