Born in 1991 in Grantham, Lincolnshire, Edward was bright academically but lacked a social life owing to his Asperger's Syndrome. Sublimating this loneliness into music, he learned to play the B♭ cornet and started to compose. More recently he has reprised the descant recorder, which he first took up in primary school, and in June 2012 he obtained a garklein-flötlein (a recorder pitched an octave above the descant).
