Efaist was born from the ashes of the legendary hardcore band Guam, springing from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Guam's sound was getting even more aggressive after the double full-length "Noturno/Diurno" , and so was the group dynamics. Guam's main songwriters, Paulo Henrique Sava (also vocalist and back-up guitarist) and Luana Campos (also vocalist and solo guitarist) had always diverged, and the band was kept alive by periods of dedication to side projects.
