Formed January 2010 from Nicolas Kal and Joe George on guitar, with Sawyer McGale singing. The three were at a small house show the same month when they heard Timothy Heller, singing and playing ukulele and knew she had to join. Covers of "Tonight You Belong To Me" soon followed along with the name "The Berard-Malenauckas". A few months and a few original songs later, The Berard-Malenauckas changed their name to Espiões, meaning 'spies' in Portuguese.
