Except My Life is composed of many other bands. First started by guitarist Ryan Ferguson, drummer Derek Fettes, Marcel Dubord, and Mike Meany during September 1996, it was essentially a cover band at the time. As the music progressed, we shied away from covers and began our own sound. Playing in a cramped garage, and jamming all the time, the music started to form.
