Fahrstuhlambiente (which is German for "elevator ambiance") is a jazz collective of 5 young musicians from Mainz, Germany. The band was formed in 2004, when bassist Carsten Christman and pianist Timothy Schmele met the guitarist Lukas Bugiel for a jam session. Soon enough the drummer Jannik Dähn joined in with the rhythm section and lastly Christopher Busch filled the void as a frontman with his tenor and alto saxophones.
