Lynx was born Ahmad Abdulrahim on June 8, 1983, in New Haven, Connecticut. His father Mahdiy Abdulrahim, a pianist, Chose the name Ahmad for his son because of its Arabic Meaning: “highly praised” or “worthy of praise.” Lynx was raised by his mother, Brenda until the age of 12.
