Frans' interest in music came relatively late at age 16. When a friend played Jaco Pastorius for him he got hooked to the electric bass. After just two years of fierce woodshedding, he was atmitted to the conservatory. Graduated (masters degree) with honours in 1996, he co-founded "Wash and Go", a traditional cool-jazz trio featuring NY guitarist Hendrik Helmer.
