İlhan Mimaroğlu is a musician and composer. He was born in Istanbul, Turkey on 11 March 1926, the son of the architect Kemalletin Mimaroglu. He went to Galatasaray Lisesi (High School), and later attended Ankara Law School. He studied musicology and composition at Columbia University in the 1950s. He is an electronic music composer, and also was the producer for Changes One (Mingus). He was awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship in music composition.
