George Maurer was born in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, in 1965. The early musical influences in Maurer’s life were his parents. His father is from Louisiana and when describing him, George says, “He can’t carry a tune, but had a really neat record collection.” He only owned two types of records: jazz (including Henry Mancini and Al Hirt) and classical (including Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, and Elvis).
