George Tsontakis, born 1951, is an American composer living in New York. Well-known works include his Violin Concerto No. 2, winner of the prestigious Grawemeyer Award, Ghost Variations, and the orchestral tone poem "The Dove Descending". His music has previously been recorded by the KOCH International, New World and Opus One labels, and is published by Theodore Presser.
