Notes From The LP Sleeve The genesis for this date occurred in 1954, when Mulligan sat in with Brubeck's quartet at a Carnegie Hall Concert. He and Desmond enjoyed the experience so much they decided it would be a great idea to make their own record. Finally, in August 1957, everything came together.
