Born Ian James Currie (1982) in Grantsville West Virginia, Ghani Gautama first picked up the mic in Myrtle Beach South Carolina at age 16 as the front man for rap-rock outfit, Pure Irate Souls. After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia in 2000 he linked up with DJ/Producer Metrognome and the duo recruited several neighbors and art school classmates to form Street Temple Emcees.
