Giovanni Battista Bovicelli (c.1550-after 1594) Italian composer, singer and music theoretician. Born in Assisi, he was a member of the choir of Milan cathedral. He published a manual on the vocal ornamentation of madrigals and motets under the title Regole, passaggi di musica, madrigali et motetti passegiati (Venice 1594).
