Goodnight Providence began in the winter of 2005 with Danny Morris - guitar, vox, Jon Harris - lead guitar, Josh Gaines - bass, and Ben Cantrell - drums. Original material like Glory Is Listening and Tomorrow were written by Josh and Danny. Josh left the band in May/June of 05 and was offered to play a farewell show but refused because it would just make him want to stay and he needed to just get up and go.
