Grand Electric was formed in 2010 with the ambitious goal, "Let's start a band with two guitars." Despite this, guitarists Ahmed Abdallah and David Hansford were able to attract bassist Lee Marshall Griffin and drummer Dan Gillespie. The addition of this soulful rhythm section to the raw power of the dual guitars created a vintage rock sound which was "surprisingly good," but it wasn't until the addition of singer A.T.
