Hamlet Machine formed in 1991. The duo, originally, was formed as a special collaboration between legendary visual kei frontman Issay (of Der Zibet fame) and electronic artist Tatsuya. The duo made their debut on the "Dance 2 Noise 001" omnibus in October of 1991, and, due to Issay concentrating more on his Der Zibet project, Hamlet Machine only did a few shows a year.
