Het Volksoperahuis was founded in 2000, and is a continuation of earlier projects by Jef Hofmeister (composer, accordion) and Kees Scholten (vocals). Het Volksoperahuis want to connect the lower-class (volks) with the upper-class (opera). They make theatre plays with music as basic.
