Cedar and Sara started House on a Hill after playing in rock band First Last Chance. In 2002 they moved into a Queen Anne apartment together and recorded their self-titled debut album as House on a Hill. Besides earning rotation on 90.3 KEXP, the record became album of the week and was one of the top 50 sellers at Easy Street Records during the first half of 2003.
