After announcing the end of Simply Red in October 2007 Mick Hucknall already released his first solo album "Hucknall - Tribute to Bobby" in May 2008. On "Tribute to Bobby" he pays tribute to one of his musical heroes Bobby "Blue" Bland. “His music has this sophistication to it, a jazz tinge.
