Ilmarin was and is a little project created by Marc Hoyland (Hoyland, Ethereal Forest, Heathen deity, 13 Candles) and Kev Thacker in 1999. Originally the music was created to accompany as a soundtrack to a sword and sorcery role play game called Ilmarin.
