IMERUAT (meaning "lightning" in the Ainu language) is a prominent music group formed in 2011 by composer and pianist Masashi Hamauzu (浜渦正志, known around the world for his compositions for popular video games, among them Final Fantasy XIII) and vocalist Mina (Mina Sakai, born in Obihiro, Hokkaido, Japan), whose training is reflected in her exceptional vocal style and research into her Ainu ancestry.
