Born in Córdoba, she started studying flamenco while she was just 5 under the guidance of teacher Nieves Camacho. The family moved to Roquetas de Mar (Almería) when she was 11 years old. She sang on the local fishing port area, becoming popular as "La Niña del Puerto".
