Jakov Gotovac was a Croatian composer and conductor of classical music, the author of the most famous Croatian comic opera Ero s’ onoga svijeta (usually translated as Ero the Joker). Gotovac was born on October 11, 1895 in Split, Croatia, and died on October 16, 1982 in Zagreb, Croatia.
