Jamil Amirov (born 3 May 1957 in Baku) comes from a famous musical family. He is the son of Azerbaijan's classical composer Fikret Amirov and the grandson of Meshedi Jamil Amirov, a famous “khanande” (mugam singer) from Shusha who composed and played tar.
