Born and raised in Memphis, Jo'zzy grew up immersed in music. With her mother a part of Willie Mitchell's famed Hi Records, her mom was a solo recording artist herself, and had cuts on Hi including "Love What You're Doing To Me". Regrettably, Jo'zzy's older brother, an aspiring rapper, was sent to prison when she was 5, leaving a sudden void in her life.
