Johnny Ekman & H.I.V. was a punk band formed originally in Tammela/Somero, Finland in February 2008. H.I.V. (as the band is often shortened) was originally known as Rasite, but they had to rename the band, because another band with the name Rasite already existed. The line-up was: Johnny (guitar and vocals), Jasse (drums and vocals) and Bodo (bass and vocals). 50 copies of H.I.V.'s legendary first self-titled demo were printed, and the demo quickly sold out.
