Philologist and ethnomusicogist Jos Gansemans was head of the Cultural Anthropology department of the Royal Museum for Central Africa (RMCA). Between 1973 and 1988, he carried out a large number of studies on Rwanda’s traditional music and wrote profusely about the topic.
